Visit to Guildhall

Guidlhall!!

Hello everyone!!

After practicing sports two days ago, the activity we have every Monday, yesterday we went to 'Guildhall'. Guildhall is a historic listed building on Gaol Hill here in Norwich. It was constructed between 1407 and 1413 and served as the seat of city government from the early 15th century until 1938, when it was replaced by the newly built City Hall. At the time of the building's construction and for much of its history Norwich was one of the largest and wealthiest cities in England, and today the Guildhall is the largest surviving medieval civic building in the country outside of London (http://www.norwich12.co.uk/the-guildhall/)

Once in there, the students had three different speeches with different characters about the life in Medieval times: about medicine (what life was like during 'The Plague'), about the arma that was used and how criminals were punished.

Despues de practicar deporte antes de ayer, la actividad que tienen los chicos todos los lunes, ayer nos fuimos a 'Guildhall'. Guildhall es un edificio historico situado en la Colina Gaol aqui en Norwich. Fue construido entre 1407 y 1413 y sirvio como sede del gobierno de la ciudad desde principios del siglo 15 hasta 1938, cuando fue reemplazado por el recien construido ayuntamiento. En el momento de la construccion del edificio y durante gran parte de su historia, Norwich fue una de las ciudades mas grandes y mas ricas de Inglaterra y hoy el consistorio es la supervivencia mas grande como edificio civico medieval en el pais fuera de Londres (http://www.norwich12.co.uk/the-guildhall/)

 
Una vez allí, los estudiantes tenían tres discursos diferentes, con diferentes personajes sobre la vida en la época medieval: sobre medicina (como era la vida durante 'La peste negra'), sobre el armamento que se utilizó y cómo eran castigados los criminales en aquella epoca.
